In Pakistan, a country of 250 million, where 60% are under 35, we see social and economic challenges as opportunities. Our focus is on human development, aiming to improve well-being, opportunities, and choices for all.
At Momentum Development Foundation, we believe in inclusive progress, fighting inequality and disenchantment. We use the Human Development Index (HDI) to measure achievements in longevity, education, and living standards.
Our goals: end gender discrimination, empower women, promote sustainability, and ensure equal access. Unfortunately, Pakistan ranks 161st in HDI globally, the lowest in the region after Afghanistan. Education, healthcare, and economic empowerment can turn challenges into opportunities.
We use research-based models for education, healthcare, and economic development to combat illiteracy and poverty. Dr. Mehboob ul Haq introduced Human Development, and Dr. Nasim Ashraf promoted it in Pakistan, establishing NCHD. After 2008, it lost focus.
Mr. Iqbal ur Rehman, part of Dr. Nasim Ashraf’s team, continues the Human Development journey, with a focus on Non-Formal Education. The Momentum Development Foundation now carries this work forward in Pakistan.
