Disease
Prevention & Control

Overview

Momentum Development Foundation (MDF) is committed to building resilient health systems by integrating infectious disease control, non-communicable disease (NCD) management, and early warning mechanisms. Our comprehensive health initiatives focus on both prevention and treatment, particularly in underserved and high-risk communities where access to care remains a challenge.

Why it Matters

Tackling both communicable and non-communicable diseases ensures a balanced, proactive, and inclusive approach to public health. By focusing on prevention, early diagnosis, and community-based response, MDF strengthens healthcare equity and enhances population resilience.

What Momentum is Doing

  • Testing, treatment, and vaccination (TB, HIV/AIDS, malaria, hepatitis)
Delivering testing, treatment, and vaccination services for high-burden infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and hepatitis
  • Screening and lifestyle education for NCDs
Conducting screenings, health education, and lifestyle interventions to address the rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs)
  • Disease surveillance and outbreak response systems
Establishing disease surveillance and rapid outbreak response systems to improve early detection and containment of health threats

How MDF Supports the SDGs

  • SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being: MDF reduces disease burden and promotes healthier lifestyles, improving life expectancy and overall health outcomes.

  • SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities: By targeting marginalized and hard-to-reach populations, MDF works to eliminate disparities in health access and outcomes.
